Wrist Sprains

Surgical Options

If the wrist sprain is severe, doctors at the FHCH Sports Medicine Program may recommend surgery to repair any ligaments that have been completely torn.

This surgery will be followed by a period of rehabilitation and exercises designed to strengthen the wrist and restore full motion to it. The sprain may take 2 to 10 weeks to heal completely, depending on its severity.
